Web 2.0 generally refers to online tools that encourage collaboration and are user centered.  Most are not platform specific and are available if the user has access to the Internet.  This is a collection tools has been identified as useful for teachers and students in the development of curriculum and student projects.  This list is only a small representation of available tools.

Audacity is an online multitrack audio editor and recorder. Quizlet is an engaging site for studying vocabulary.
AudioOwl - This is a great source for free audio books. Scoreboard keeps score using an interactive white board.

Bubble.Us is an online mind mapping tool. Slideshare is for sharing presentations & documents.

Evernote allows users to collect, sort, tag and annotate notes and more. Teampedia is a collaborative site for team building and ice-breakers
FillAnyPDF is a website where you upload your PDF form and link to it so other people can fill it out and sign it online.  NO software needed. Tiny url converts long urls to a short url.
Flicker is a way to store, sort, search and share your photos online. Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service.
Google Docs allows for collaboration on word and excel documents Visuword is an online graphical dictionary.
Google Earth ( includes Sky, Moon, and Mars) Voicethread is Web-based digital-storytelling application that allows users to share their stories through audio, images, etc.
Google Sites allows for creation of web pages. Voki enables users to express themselves on the web in their own voice using a talking character.

LameLib is needed to create a podcast using Audacity. Wordle creates word clouds from user input or rss feed.

Mindmeister is an online mind mapping tool. ZoomIt is a presentation utility for zooming and drawing on the screen.
Photoshop online editor is an online graphic editor  Goanimation  this is a very easy method of allowing your students to express themselves.  May be used at all grade levels.
