All articles are taken from the website TIMEFORKIDS.COM. This website allows the teacher to integrate the world news and technology into an almost seamless inspiration.
You will find listed below articles that have been placed in a word document. These articles are taken from "TIME FOR KIDS". The editorials are in a format that will allow students to read the article and then type what they have read on the same page. Each article must be placed in a read only format allowing the student to make changes then save them under their own name making sure they do not overwrite the original document. You may make this read only by changing the properties of the document. Integrating technology with reading and evaluating what is read are the main concepts of this web page.
Directions:
Teachers download the file and place the document in your classroom folder, or you may have them simply download it from here. These two methods allows the students to obtain the article to read, write and critique what they have read. Each student will printout out a report and submit it to the teacher for a grade. Students are instructed to go to VIEW then HEADER and FOOTER and then type in their name prior to printing out this assignment.
This web page will stay available only if I find that teachers are using it. The amount of work to update this site must not outweigh the educational learning.
